Story
On what would be our Mama’s 59th birthday, with family & friends we are walking a marathon through villages of the ribble valley. We have chosen ELHT as our charity to help improve patients & their families experience through their hospital stays where we can. Being able to give our mum some luxury whilst she was in hospital was what kept her personality shining, through all her battles she was known for her glamour. But the main reason we chose ELHT is because we saw first hand what it’s like to be a patient, nurse & doctor in the current times. We want to help the hospitals & give thanks to those that crossed our paths during our mamas battle. The ICU nurse who kept our spirits up, hugged us all and had tears as we said goodbye , the surgeons that took on a challenge and performed a miracle, giving us extra time with her, time we’ll cherish forever, the healthcare support worker who made her smile every time she saw her. Her surgery was compared to completing 2 marathons without training .. so a marathon it is & no matter how big or small we are so grateful for any support we receive in doing so
