Alistair's London Marathon page

London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 23rd of April 2023, I will be dragging myself around the streets of London, taking part in the London Marathon. All in aid of Muscular Dystrophy UK and in memory of my big brother Martin who had Duchenne MD from birth. Martin is all the inspiration I will ever need even to attempt anything like this and when Martin died in 2003, I always vowed to do my best to make him proud. The more likely outcome from this endeavour would be that he would take great delight in my suffering, those who knew him will know how true this is! My parents have fundraised huge amounts over the years through various forms; including mum running several marathons; as she's pretty darn old now (sorry mum!), I've decided it's my turn to put my body through the wringer once more after a 5-year hiatus since Ironman Wales in 2018 . Some of you may well have been lucky enough to know my big brother personally but for those of you that didn't, my mum wrote a blog about his life and our crazy family; It really is a great read and believe me when I say, it is VERY light-hearted and funny! Obviously read from blog post 1 onwards. Just copy and paste the link below

Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity that funds research into muscle-wasting and aim to bring individuals, families and professionals together to beat muscle-wasting conditions. Please give any amount to help me reach the target of £1000 as this would fund over 34 hours of ground breaking research into muscular dystrophy!
