What is Fierce? Fierce is Born To Be Alive’s very own fitness challenge. Inspired by our team’s ‘Mom’ Allison & her fierce fight against breast cancer in 2021 we decided to raise funds for Maggie’s Glasgow who supported Allison & many other people like her. We are so happy to say Allison has now recovered and will be leading the way on our 3rd year of Fierce. Fierce was born in association with Drumchapel Cycle Hub with the help of our Anne. Together Anne & I planned, practiced and created the perfect day of outdoor fitness that our team could enjoy. Fierce means facing your fears & conquering them together. The day consisted of Bootcamp, Cardio Dance, Cycling, Walking, Dipping/Swimming, Walking, Cycling, & Yoga. The challenge was to get out of your comfort zone and do more than you have before, & for some people the dancing was the biggest step outside their comfort zone. The challenge was ON & every person did something to be massively proud of that day, from those who took part, to the sideline supporters, & everyone who kindly donated! After the huge success of the first event we decided to make it an annual event, raising vital funds for Maggie’s again in 2022. This year we are getting Fierce against cancer again. This time we will be raising funds for The Teenage Cancer Trust at The Beatson in memory of Meadbh Cameron who sadly passed from a rare form of lung cancer in March. Meadbh who was a close friend of our Michelle and a Scottish Ambulance Service Paramedic was just 24 when she passed. The Teenage & Young Adult Cancer Trust gave vital care & support to Meadbh and her family. While staying at they unit they ensured her last Christmas was a special time spent with her loved ones. They also helped bring her wedding date forward, pulling it all together in 3 days to allow her & husband Lee have their special day. Cancer is so cruel & it will effect all of us in one way or another at some point during our life. Join us in the challenge, support us on the day, or make a donation to this amazing charity.
