Fundraising for Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation
Hi guys, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have stupidly agreed to follow in my brothers footsteps and run the Birmingham half marathon at the end of October. I will be raising money and awareness for a fantastic charity very close to my heart (The Roy castle lung cancer foundation).
I am running the half in memory of my amazing dad, who sadly lost his battle to lung cancer two years ago. My dad is a true inspiration to me, and I will always remember the sheer determination and upbeat positive attitude in which he faced the disease with. So when I’m out and about training or during the race and start to ache and feel like giving up I think of my Dad and this always gives me that extra boost to carry on.
Currently lung cancer is the most common cause of cancer death in the UK, therefore raising awareness for this type of cancer is crucial in order to help more people survive the awful disease, that affects so many peoples lives.
The Roy castle foundation is the only charity in the UK wholly dedicated to the defeat of lung cancer. It funds research into prevention and early diagnosis, provides information and support as well as helping people to quit smoking. Call The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Helpline on: 0333 323 7200 or visit http://www.roycastle.org/ for more info and support.
Every donation is welcome, so please don't hesitate because even
a few pounds will help me get closer to reaching my target :)!!
Thanks everyone! xx
