Story
In times of immense difficulty, there is strength in unity. We love you for joining with us in this effort!
All we do is record a podcast about a football club we love. That's it. And yet, there's this wonderful, supportive and vibrant community of people who have come together around the podcast, because we share the same passion. This is a chance for that powerful bond, and unity of purpose, to benefit a cause that could not be more deserving: children feeling the devastating impact of wars around the world. Yes this fundraiser will help the children suffering from the war in Ukraine. But because of the powerful work being done by the Arsenal Foundation and by Save the Children's emergency fund, children impacted by wars in other places like Syria and Yemen, will be supported as well. Help us reach our goal. Showing the strength of our community, and of the global community of people who love Arsenal Football Club.
Save the Children have already helped at least 6,000 people in Romania with food, clothes and other essentials. And they're supporting organisations in Ukraine to give food, blankets and support to families who are still there.
But right now, children around the world are facing other crises. The knock-on effects of the Ukraine crisis are being felt around the world as the prices of wheat and fertilizer soar. This is being felt strongly in the Horn of Africa, where wheat is the third most consumed crop. Meanwhile, children in Afghanistan, Yemen and Syria have lived much of their lives in ongoing conflicts and are struggling to get the support they need to stay safe and healthy.
About Save the Children’s Emergency Fund
When a disaster hits and children are fighting for their lives, the response has to be immediate. That’s why Save The Children set up the Emergency Fund. It’s a pot of flexible funding that enables them to react to emergencies immediately and make sure children get the food, medicine, and other essentials they need, as well as help to recover, rebuild and prepare for future crises.
This special reserve also means that they can help children and families affected by ‘forgotten emergencies’ that do not hit our TV screens, and which often go without the attention and support they need.
All over the world, children's lives are at risk as conflicts persist. Save the Children are supporting children growing up in conflict in places such as Ukraine, supporting with:
- Winter and hygiene kits
- Access to education
- Psychological support in the face of unimaginable adversity
- Cash grants for families to meet basic needs
Please help us hit the goal, and show the power of our community and the Arsenal family to be a force for good in the world.
Thank you!
