We have decided to take part in this years ‘my walk of life marathon’ raising money for the RUH. Avi is now 17 months old and we’re aiming to walk 1 mile a day during September until she reaches the target of her first marathon. The RUH means an incredible amount to us as without the care of their staff on the nicu ward when she was born 6 weeks early and more recently the a&e/paeds team when she fought her battle with sepsis back in January, Avi would not be here now. At her worst the doctors didn’t think she would survive but they never gave up on her and she beat it. The work that all of the nhs staff do is absolutely amazing and we will be forever grateful for giving our little girl back. Avi is loving the challenge so far and it would be really lovely if we could raise a little bit of money as a thank you for everything the RUH have done for her.
