Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit this fundraising page. The Avery Estate Agents Grand Charity Ball ‘In Memory of Jack Colin Tucker’, will be held on 16th April 2011 to raise essential funds for Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at St Michaels Hospital, Bristol. During the evening we hope to raise enough money to buy an Intensive Care Vital Signs Monitor.
All money raised from this page will be donated directly to the SCBU via the umbrella charity Above & Beyond (registered charity number 229945) which raises money for all nine hospitals in the University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust.
In 2003 Jane gave birth to Jack, who was born 26 weeks premature and spent 24 days in a incubator cared for at SCBU. Very sadly Jack died, but despite Jane’s grief, she wanted to give something back to the unit in appreciation of their support and for the excellent care Jack had received. With the assistance of her close friend Sarah, Director of Avery Estate Agents, they decided to hold a Charity Ball.
Now in its fifth year, the black tie ball has raised over £55,000 for equipment for SCBU. This year there will be a host of fantastic ‘money can’t buy’ items to bid for at the main and silent auction including dinner for ten cooked in your home by local chef Andy Pearson; a day spa for two at Whatley Manor and a Bath Rugby shirt signed by the squad. All money raised during the night will go directly to SCBU and help make real a difference the lives of special care babies and their parents.
Donating via this Just Giving site is simple, fast and totally secure. All donations are sent directly to SCBU. Thanks for taking the time to read our story.
