Story
The Guide Dog service receives no government funding, and relies on the generosity of supporters to change thousands of lives every year.
Every hour, of every day, another person in the UK loses their sight. When this happens, Guide Dogs is there to make sure that they don’t lose their freedom and independence too.
As a profession we see first hand the value of these dogs and the impact that they have on their owners lives. For many years we have worked with the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and have had the privilege to be part of the care team for these valuable family members.
On the 13th of September 8 members of the Avenues Veterinary Centre will be embarking on the Coniston challenge. We will be hiking 10km up and over the summit of old man Coniston, mountain biking 12km through the forest of Grizedale and kayaking 3km on Coniston Water.
