COVID Ride For Hope, 26 February 2021
I AM YC is a student-led association dedicated to the encouragement of philanthropy among faculty, staff, and students at Yavapai College to promote student success.

Story

As a member of the Yavapai College Honors Program, I’ll be joining Professor Dan Swartz on his COVID Bike Ride of Hope Friday, February 26. Dr. Dan began riding his bike on Prescott's Peavine Trail back in May 2020 and hasn’t skipped a day since! He’s using his daily ride to raise funds for the Yavapai College I AM YC Student Emergency Fund with a goal of reaching 365 consecutive days.

I AM YC is a student-led association whose emergency funds are designed to alleviate an immediate need when a student is in financial crisis due to job loss, unexpected home or car repairs, childcare or healthcare costs etc. During the pandemic, we have distributed over $280,000 of Cares Act dollars to students in need! That fund is almost depleted, and we will be relying once again on individual tax-deductible donations.
