Story
From March 30th, we will be launching our monthly CoMmunity Jam, in which people around the world can participate by creating amazing things in Dreams - from games and experiences to music and art! Throughout the month of April, you can take part by making anything you can imagine in Dreams that raises awareness around autism, and why autism research is so vitally important, in support of World Autism Awareness Month (WAAM).
Alongside the jam, we are also running this month-long fundraiser to support Autistica’s vital research!
This is what your donations can do:
- £5 Could recruit four new families to our network so they get urgent advice straight to their inbox.
- £10 Could pay for one hour with an autistic research participant trialling new services or therapies
- £20Could pay for someone to take part in a research interview about their experiences of anxiety
- £25Could help us work with top researchers to develop information on transitioning out of lockdown
- £50Could help us get expert mental health advice out to 40+ families in urgent need
- £100 Could for a day of a researcher’s study on communication tools for children that speak few or no words
- £1000 Could pay for the involvement of a family in our PECS study which aims to give autistic children who speak few or no words a voice.
The past year has been an uncertain and worrying time for many of us, but autistic people have been particularly hard-hit. Before the pandemic, over half of all autistic adults had reported feelings of anxiety - for many, this has only worsened, especially given many have lost their support networks during the last year. That's why Autistica are focusing on anxiety this World Autism Awareness Month.
