Story
In June Aidan and Alex will be taking on one of the hardest physical challenges we're likely ever to do... an epic cycle ride from Graz, Austria to Henley-On-Thames, UK, passing through Germany, Belgium and France en route. Wild camping without a tent and packing light, we plan on completing the distance of 1800 km in 24 days or less which means we need to average 75 km per day. We've never done anything like this before and our preparedness for such a task, both physically and mentally is highly questionable! Needless to say, we're nervous about this one!
So when we're lost in the middle of the Alps with a burst tire, rain beginning to fall on our heads and only a bivvy bag to sleep in and bread and water to look forward to for dinner, we're going to want something to motivate us to carry on. And that something is the thought of helping out a great charity! Sue Ryder does an incredible amount for those with life-shortening illnesses, providing comfort and care for the terminally ill and their families during the hardest parts of their lives. On a personal level I was incredibly grateful to the charity, knowing that they made my late Auntie's life more comfortable for her in her final years of struggle with cancer. If you want to find out a little bit more about what they do there is a link at the bottom of our page.
It would mean a great deal to us and even more to Sue Ryder and those suffering from terminal illnesses if you could sponsor us, whatever the amount, in our most scary (and quite possibly impossible) adventure to date. Thanks very much and we'll see you on the other side!
