Sarah's Marathon a Week for Aurelia

A Marathon a Week for Aurelia · 1 August 2021
I have decided to dust off my trainers and challenge myself to run (the equivalent of) a marathon a week for the next five months, with the aim of clocking up 500 miles by Christmas. I am hoping to raise funds for Aurelia’s Adventures to support our dream of Aurelia, one day, being able to ‘run’ (walk proudly in her walking frame) alongside me. I know for many this would just be their normal running routine, but with the extra pounds and sleep deprivation that the last three years have brought, it is a real challenge for me, and I would be so grateful for your support.
As you may already know, Aurelia is our amazing three year old daughter. She has an incredibly rare genetic condition, which affects only six people in the world, and has left her blind, severely physically disabled, non-verbal and tube fed. She is the most incredible little girl, she is always smiling and has the most infectious laugh. She works so hard, day in day out, at all of the therapies we throw at her, she is so determined and so incredibly proud, as we are, of everything she is achieving. I am taking on this challenge, not just to raise money to support Aurelia’s therapies, but because she has inspired me to do more, if such a tiny little person with so much against her can keep on smiling and giving it her all then the least I can do, as her mum, is do the same.
Any donation, large or small, will help us to provide Aurelia with the physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy that she really needs to reach her full potential. Thank you so much for your support.
