Story
I am running with my daughter Milly on the 27 April in the GC Run. We are running for ABF the Soldiers’ Charity. We will be running 4km, which is 10 metres for each soldier killed in action in Afghanistan.
We have just heard the names of the two soldiers whose names we have been allocated to wear on our T-shirts on the day. Their stories will inspire us to run faster. Milly is running for L. Cpl Martin Gill, a Royal Marine who was shot dead by insurgents whilst on patrol. He was aged just 22 years. His full story is at www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13672451. I am running for Bombardier Stephen Raymond Gilbert, Royal Artillery, who died from injuries from an IED explosion. His story is at www.bbc.co.uk/news/10426424 .
There is further information about the support the ABF Soldiers’ Charity provides to service personnel and their families at www.soldierscharity.org/about-us/what-we-do/. If you can spare some sponsorship, it would be great if you could contribute to make a difference to this charity.
