Army Triathlon Association 12hr Zwift Challenge

Army Triathlon Association 12hr Zwift Challenge · 30 May 2020
On Saturday 30th May, Major General John Mead OBE with support from Commander Field Army, Lieutenant General Ivan Jones CB and members of the Army Triathlon Association, will ride for 12 hours non-stop on the virtual cycling platform, Zwift.
We are raising money for ABF The Soldiers' Charity who provide vital support to soldiers, veterans and their families in times of need. For Soldiers. For Life.
It is an uncertain and unprecedented time- many people are struggling and will continue to struggle in the weeks, months and years to come. We want to support our fellow soldiers so that we may, in some way, ease the burden that the future after Covid-19 may bring.
Anybody is welcome to join the meet-ups, and all rides will be tethered to allow everyone to ride together regardless of ability and experience. Every hour a new Meet-Up will be available for anyone to join!
The overall scale, breadth and range of what the Army Benevolent Fund support is vast. They help very young serving families cope with a sudden bereavement or traumatic loss. They provide wide-ranging support to wounded soldiers, many of whom will need increasing financial assistance for decades to come. They provide help with housing, education and training for employment for soldiers and veterans of all ages. They are there for older veterans and their widows or widowers when they find themselves lonely or isolated
Whilst we want to raise money, our goal is really to raise awareness and support those serving and ex-serving personnel and their families who might be suffering in what is turning out to be a very difficult 2020.
