This year hasn’t been a good year for a lot of people. Whilst one annoying C has dominated the news another big C has dominated my life. For those of you that don’t know I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the start of the year. It was a huge shock as I’m young (ish), fit and healthy or so I thought.
Breast cancer is said to affect 1 in 7 women at some point in their lives. It does not discriminate and sadly affects the lives of woman of all ages. Breast Cancer Now provides support as well as research and life changing care for people affected by breast cancer.
I’m now about half way through my treatment and positive that the worse is behind me. I’ve met some amazing, brave and hopeful women along the way. They’ve inspired me to want to help other woman or men who may face this journey and do something personally to support such a worthwhile charity.
I’ve chosen to challenge myself to bag all 282 of the Munro's during the next phase of my treatment. Anyone who knows me will know I love running/walking, nature and Scotland! I hope to be able to tackle some of the actual mountains but given that other annoying C that is still lurking about, for now I shall be doing the challenge virtually on my elliptical training machine. My wonderful husband and mini support crew have a map and will be keeping track of my progress and adventures along the way.
If you would like to sponsor me or show me any support I would be delighted!
