Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are Duncan and Rebecca Whitehurst from Pembrokeshire's retro folk beat combo The Lucky 12, and we are singing a song a day for Parkinson's UK in May. Ten years ago Duncan was diagnosed with Parkinson's.Thanks to the NHS and research funded by charities like Parkinson's UK he still has times when he can write songs, play guitar and sing. So to say 'thank you' for the extra advice and support that Parkinson's UK provides, we are going to post a new song every day in May to raise a bit of money for the charity.

We don't know if it's possible, because on some days Parkinson's can make it difficult to move, play guitar and sing. What we're hoping for is one good patch in every day when it's possible to play. If it all works out there will be a video posted every day in May on The Lucky 12 Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/thelucky12band.

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
