This January (2021) I am completing 9000 steps a day for 31 days to support St Mary's Hospice. I'm doing this challenge in memory of my Gramps who spent a lot of time at St Mary's Hospice for care and rest bite. 

Although I've become quite active recently, it is going to be a challenge for me to reach 9000 steps a day, this is between 4.5 - 5 mile everyday. I'm sure it's not going to be easy heading out on the cold winter nights but I'll be thinking of my Gramps with every step.

It costs £9000 a day to run St Mary's and with our support, they can be there to care for those who need it most. The hospice costs over £3.5 million a year to keep running with only 17% funding from the NHS, the rest comes directly from the community. The palliative care received is all free of charge and they support patients and families throughout and even after.
