Story
The story behind Ashton Hiking Club - AHC :-)
Ashton Hiking Club started back in May 2019, one walk led to another and each week, the size of the group flourished as the word got round.
The strength of the group has always been the willingness to help others and at the same time, enjoy the beauty of the outdoors together.
Three years later, after climbing the highest
mountains in England, Scotland and Wales, after allying our fears of Hellvellyn, Tryfan and the infamous Crib Goch and completing the Yorkshire and Peak District 3 peak challenges....Here we are with our biggest challenge to date,
40 brothers from the AHC family (please see names of participants below) will be attempting to summit the Highest Mountain in North Africa, Mount Toubkal in two days - In sha Allah. This is at 4,167 metres (13,671 ft) and is the equivalent to over 3 times the size of Ben Nevis which is the highest peak in the U.K. This will be our biggest challenge yet with gruelling conditions of adjusting to the altitude and the heat of Africa to reach the summit of Toubkal.
Trek date: 7th-8th June - Please keep us in your dua's!
Why have we chosen this charity and this appeal?
Syria has seen a decade of death and displacement. Over 500,000 people killed and 11 million forced to flee their homes.
We have watched the work being carried out by Action for Humanity on the ground.
A member of our club recently went to Syria (December 2021) and has seen all the work being carried out first hand.
We know with every new home built, there's a better, more dignified and hopeful future for one more family.
We can see where our donations have been used and the beautiful changes that have been made to the lives of the blessed people of Syria.
For £2,000 per family you can provide people with a home, with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, electricity, water and all the utilities.
Donate today and help rebuild Syria, one home one village at a time.
