Story
Well, I suppose my luck had to run out one year. Never mind staggering over the finish line, I never even managed it over the start. Unfortunately I contracted a virus in the week which turned into a sinus, throat and eye infection and following a visit to the doctor on Saturday morning, I had to withdraw.
I can't describe how disappointed I am having put all of the miles in over one of the worst winters for years. However, the good news (?) is that my entry is valid for next year so I can train all through this year as well.
However, during my sulking over the weekend I did reflect that my troubles are nothing compared to some peoples. The money that every one of you has so generously donated to The Children's Trust will in some way help children and their families who have more to cope with than my transient issues. I cannot thank you all enough for your donations and I promise that after another year of training and a few other races along the way I will be back to run the London Marathon as intended in return for your fantastic generosity.
Many thanks again from me and The Children's Trust.
