Story
In 2021, the generous people of Ashtead gave almost £10,000 to help the world's poor during Christian Aid Week. Once again this year volunteers from Ashtead Baptist Church, St Michael's Roman Catholic Church and St George and St Giles will be delivering envelopes to all the houses in the parish as well as setting up this Just Giving site. We hope to do as well if not better in 2022. There is still a great need in the developing world as well as here in Europe.
Drought starves. It robs women of the power to farm and grow food for their families. Rains have failed in many parts of Africa. Christian Aid is focussing it's campaign this year on women like Jessica Mwedzi from Zimbabwe. Jessica is at the mercy of the climate crisis and unable to feed her family. Can you help this mum turn her hunger into hope, for herself and her children.
Christian Aid is also helping to provide basic needs for
families fleeing the war in Ukraine both on the borders and in the western countries taking in those many families particularly women and children who find them selves far from home without anything.
