Story

Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page.

This story started in 2013 when Dave was diagnosed with Stage 1 Bowel Cancer. Following successful surgery and follow ups Dave entered the 2014 London Surrey 100. This was the year that tail end of "Hurricane Bertha" hit the south of England and for safety reasons about 8 miles were cut from the course. Dave has unfinished business.

As Dave is 60 this year and frankly a bit fat and not as fit as he used to be, we thought this may be our last chance to complete the event together as " Team Ashpool" and raise some funds for Beating Bowel Cancer. As we have a combined age of 170 (shock!) we are not expecting to set any records except maybe oldest/heaviest/slowest.

We have all purchased our own entries into this event and have been training hard. Our joint target is a total of £1,500 and, although ambitious, we hope you will be able to help us achieve this.
