I'm running the Bath Half Marathon for CLIC Sargent this year as they have been a huge support for my niece Elise and the whole family since her diagnosis of Thyroid Cancer at the age of 6 in December 2011. 

 

Bit of background about the charity - from my sister:

 

"CLIC Sargent have provided activities & support for siblings including a family holiday at Malcolm Sargent House in Scotland and general support whenever the family have needed it. CLIC Sargent have visited the family at home and in hospital to make sure they have access to any support they need.

 

The family were also able to make use of one of their Homes from Home in London when Elise went for her treatment and for scans, which meant she had both her parents with her during the treatment and that her family could visit when she was far from home.

 

Every day there are more families hearing the heartbreaking news that their child has cancer and CLIC Sargent are there to make life easier whilst the family concentrate on what matters most, getting their child through their treatment and getting the family through a difficult time.

 

Please help them to keep up their amazing work, they make a huge difference to families of children living with cancer."
