Story
After the success of my walking in 2017 I decided to embark on a different challenge in 2018 and a different charity.
The Aim
The goal is to walk 1500 miles through the course of 2018, these will be "boots on" miles, which means only specific walks of over 1 mile will count, so walking around the shops won't add to the total, but walking the 4.5 miles to work will. And in the process raise £500+ for the charity Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).
The Charity
This year I selected CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) a charity aiming to help reduce male suicide, the biggest single killer for men under the age of 45 (in 2015 75% of all suicides were men), for very personal reasons: My own mental health!
In the not that distant past I nearly became one of those statistics, thankfully, the outdoors, nature, walking, and, more importantly, my family have got me back on an even track, and my mental health is at it's best, but not everyone is as lucky as I, so if I can help raise money to prevent others falling down that hole, then it is my duty to do so.
