Story
As most of you know, I suffer from life threatening food allergies. It is my hope that one day I will live without the fear and anxiety and get to experience what most people do on a daily basis and that is to have food freedom.
Throughout the pandemic, my dad and I would fly across the country to California so that I could participate in a one of a kind treatment plan using precision medicine called the Tolerance Induction Program. The Southern California Food Allergy Institute is a non-profit organization and is working hard to expand their practice both nationally and globally. It is our belief that in the future this treatment will be more accessible and affordable to all those who are suffering from food allergies around the world.
For my mitzvah project, I am raising money for Southern California Food Allergy Institute. I am also mentoring younger kids that are also in the program. We have met up to create bracelets for the staff at SOCAL.
As a little girl I used to wear a necklace with a cupcake on it. It represented that I had food allergies. Now I have taken off the necklace and as I get closer to my goal I no longer need to wear it.
My hope is for other kids to reach food freedom in the program.
Thank you for any donation! Love, Ashley
