Story
On December 2nd 2021 at 00:04 our precious baby boy Joey was born.
My pregnancy was going well until I had a PPROM, where my waters broke at just 20 weeks. Our little Joey fought so hard for the next 11 weeks with little to no fluid surrounding him but still growing and getting stronger each day. Each week this was giving us hope that everything would be okay. I went into labour on 1st December and after a tough few hours he was here. Our little 3lbs baby boy, born 9 weeks early and so perfect 💙
Devastatingly, due to the lack of fluid over such a long time Joey had a condition called pulmonary hypoplasia, meaning his lungs were underdeveloped. Our worst nightmare came true and Joey passed away peacefully shortly after birth.
His life may have been short but we want to make sure he touches as many hearts as possible, just as he touched ours ❤️
We are raising money for 4louis in Joey’s name, in the hope that we can help as many families in the same cruel circumstances as us. This charity helped us in the darkest few hours. After Joey had passed away the amazing midwives came in with a 4louis memory box. In this box there were many keepsakes we could do with Joey like clay casts to take hand and foot prints, books to read to him and a teddy bear for him to keep. This gave me and Craig so much comfort.
Myself, Craig and some of our amazing friends and family are setting the challenge to do the Cardiff half marathon to try and reach our target for this charity. Joining us are Kristun, Nicole and Carly and we are so thankful for you helping us in memory of baby Joey.
If you could please help in anyway possible then we would be so grateful ❤️
