Story

The Cause

Ashfield Cares was set up 15 years ago with the aim of raising money for local causes and charities. This year we have selected The Laura Centre as our focus charity to benefit from the money that Ashfield Healthcare raise through events and fundraising.

The Laura Centre is a friendly and easily accessible service, providing professional holistic support to bereaved families. A death in the family of a child or parent, is a devastating and traumatic loss. The support The Laura Centre offer recognises the lifelong impact of such a loss and that there are no easy answers.

A few years ago, a small group of Ashfield Engage Employees began an annual tradition of taking part in some healthy competition to raise money for our chosen charity.

The Challenge

This year our colleagues based at Ashfield House, Ashby, will be taking on a marathon walk, from the Attenborough Nature Reserve in Nottingham, all the way back to Ashfield House. In the week leading up to the walk, the office will be split into teams (led by the marathon walkers), who will go head to head in a step count challenge.

Along the way the team will have to battle blisters, twisted ankles and stubbed toes, as well as having to put up with Dan and Lewis complaining for at least the last 10 miles.

Please donate as much as you can to support a truly great cause.
