Story
So almost 9 years ago now my (Ash's) sister who was pregnant with her second child went for her 20 weeks scan for what should be an exciting and joyous occasion. Instead she and her husband were told that their baby had spina bifida, would likely not survive the pregnancy and that they should 'consider their options'. Full of love, determination and prayerful hope they proceeded with the pregnancy not knowing what lay ahead. Adam was born in July 2014 and after uncountable surgeries especially in the first few months he was beginning to defy all medical predictions given to his parents. Fast forward to today and Adam although in a wheelchair attends mainstream school, enjoys the camaraderie of all his schoolmates and could buy and sell everyone of us twice over. His enthusiasm for life, friends and family is greater than anyone else that we know. He continues to defy medical predictions on a consistent basis and because of this and the work that SHINE do as a charity for him and those similar we want to raise money for such a fantastic cause.
