Story
I still have fond memories of my grandfather; the stories he told, his life, and the wisdom he shared were critical for me when I was growing up. Sometimes, I ponder the stuff he said and miss those moments.
He had an incredible life; he finished his education in Calcutta. He was a well-respected cop with the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police in Nepal. His command of the English language was so good because of his early education in India, and he gave private English tuition lessons to many famous people whose sons and daughters would come to learn from him for over 30 years. He was 96 years old when he passed away on the day of his birth.
I still remember the latter stage of his life when he would forget who we were, and we had to remind him. I was still young at that time and couldn't do anything about that and do anything to help him other than being there whenever we visited him. I couldn't help my grandfather back then, but now I am in a position where I can make a difference. There are some things I can do now to help to fight this disease. That's why, after completing the Berlin Marathon, I decided to run for the Alzheimer's Society and raise money to help others like him go through the same situation and make a little difference.
I don't know if I will run the marathon in April, but I want to help raise money for this charity and help many others with the same disease as my grandfather. I saw so much arguing between people regarding the Boston Marathon's quotes given to the charity running, and that's why I had to delay all of this.
So please join me in raising awareness and helping people who are in need.
