Story
As most of you know, we moved back from Singapore two years ago because my Mum was told told she needed to have a double lung transplant. After a year of multiple visits to the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital and a few false alarms her condition was seriously deteriorating. On the 20th November 2012, she was unbelievably fortunate enough to receive the ultimate gift a person could give. Another chance at life in the form of a new set of pristine lungs that were a perfect match for her.
So in honor of the person that was generous enough to be a donor. In honor of all the amazing surgeons, doctors, nurses and other staff that have treated our mother with such tender care and performed this little miracle. And in honor of my Mum, who is the bravest person I know, I would like to raise a little money for the hospitals that have made all of this possible.
Mum has gone from strength to strength and is today able to breath deeply and enjoy life watching her two grandchildren (soon to be three!) grow and laugh.
The Royal Brompton Hospital and Harefield hospital are pioneering some of the most incredible breakthroughs in heart and lung transplant surgery. They need all the support that they can get to continue to lead the way in these fields and give other families a second chance at life.
I would be so eternally grateful for any donations that you’re able to give that will help motivate me during my run and go to an extremely good cause. Thank you with all my heart Xx
