Story

TCS Marathon 2022 have generously donated places in this year's  London Marathon to Ascential staff.

The Ascential Striders are running to raise funds to support The Prince's Trust.  Ascential has been a dedicated supporter of The Prince's Trust for the past nine years. The Trust works with disadvantaged young people to create a brighter future through an empowering program of unique training, mentorship and financial support.

Please give generously to help these enthusiastic, tenacious and determined runners reach their goal to the winning line of London's gruelling marathon on 2nd October 2022.  Every penny is a step in the right direction.

David West

The challenge of running my first ever marathon now that I'm a few years the wrong side of my 50th birthday is one that fills me with motivation and dread. Representing The Prince's Trust and Ascential is an honour and knowing that my efforts are benefiting others less fortunate than me will undoubtedly spur me on through the long training runs and the race itself.

Nigel Chidgey

I have a few marathons and two ultra’s under my belt, but that won't make the task of running the London Marathon 2022 any easier, but with the thought of representing The Prince’s Trust and Ascential When the going gets tough, it will help me push through it. I look forward to running with my team members and achieving this challenge.

Alex McCord

In the scheme of things, I’m still a relatively new runner and was unable to finish a mile as recently as July of 2019. Flywheel started a run club then, and with the encouragement of my colleagues I was able to finish my first Marathon in February of 2022, and my second in April. I’m thrilled to be supporting The Prince’s Trust, a great organization, for my participation in the London Marathon in October

James Griffiths

Leads a business for Ascential that sells data products to financial services firms to help them invest in consumer sector companies.

I started marathon running shortly after joining Ascential in 2018 and did seven events around the world pre-Covid. Like many others, the lockdown period saw my fitness levels decline and I got out of the habit of running long distance. I recently became a Dad for the first time with the arrival of my beautiful son, Tanner, so I now have added impetus to get fit and be a part of The Princes Trust's valuable work supporting very deserving children.

Kestrel Carstens

To be able to take part in the TCS London Marathon this year is a dream come true for me! As a new resident of England (hailing from South Africa), I can't wait to take part in one of the biggest marathons in the world, one that can be elusive for most runners due to massive global interest.

Not everyone has the chance to run in the London Marathon but every young person should be supported and have the chance to embrace exciting opportunities. I am therefore even more thrilled to be running the London Marathon to raise money for The Prince's Trust, a charity that does invaluable work for young people (and it certainly makes the early morning runs and sore legs and feet all the more worth it!). I have a few marathons under my belt but I'm not less excited or anxious about (hopefully) completing this one!

Thank you for your interest in and support for our cause, it is greatly appreciated and makes an incredible impact on the lives of the most vulnerable in our society.

Geoffrey Brandy

I am fairly new to long distance running as I never run beyond the half marathon distance until about a year ago. Clocking kilometers beyond the 21k mark is no easy task and I have always been inspired by long-distance heroes.

It will be a privilege to run one of the very best routes and marathons around the world representing such a formidable charity as the Prince's Trust, which tackles deep-rooted issues very close to my heart.

Tom Halkyard

I took up running during Covid while there was very little else to do fitness wise.  I wouldn't say I find it particularly enjoyable, but the satisfaction afterwards - and the fitness benefits - were hard to replicate in a normal week working from home.

I have a healthy amount of apprehension about the Marathon itself - having never run that far - but I'm particularly pleased that all those hours running before work throughout lockdown will now hopefully help me to complete the race and contribute to a very deserving charity.

Thank you to TCS and Ascential for allowing me this opportunity.  I hope to look back on it fondly!

Titas Civilka

I am absolutely thrilled to be one of the accepted registrants to run my first marathon at TCS London Marathon on 2nd October and raising money for The Prince's Trust charity. I have seen what good of an impact the charity does for young people in starting their careers, I hope with my running effort I can contribute to raising the needed funds to continue the support.
