Story
Hi All,
Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.
Before anyone asks, no, I am not doing the Olympic distance! This is due to the fact that, as many of you are aware, I have two very dysfunctional shoulder joints, meaning I CANNOT actually swim, thus making this challenge all the more demanding.
Nevertheless, in addition to signing up for it, I have also chosen a charity to raise money for. I feel that raising money for a charity, along with your donations will be the inspiration required to help keep my head above water…
I have chosen to do the London Triathlon, on the 2nd August, in aid of the Shooting Star Chase Hospice charity. As many of you know, I have worked closely with children from working in my mother’s nursery since the age of 16, to babysitting and coaching many sports to children. This fondness, meant that if I were to raise money, it would, without a doubt, have to be for a children’s’ charity and after discussing the matter with my Aunty, a Consultant Pediatrician, I decided to complete the Triathlon in aid of the Shooting Star Chase Hospice Charity. They work tirelessly with children who have life-limiting conditions (terminally ill), and with their families to make the child’s remaining time on this planet as best as it could possibly be.
YOUR donations, however big or small, are greatly appreciated and will go directly to Hospice thus making an immediate impact on bettering the lives, all be them short, of many children around the United Kingdom.
Thank you kindly,
Asanka/Tank x
