Story
Arya is our almost 6 year old Wonder Woman! She has Dopa Responsive Dystonia, and was diagnosed two years ago with a rare genetic disorder called VARS. There is not much information about VARS but there is about her DRD.
Arya has been attending kids center for therapies since she was a little over a year old. Without receiving her Physical therapy, Speech therapy and Occupational therapy I don’t think she would be doing what she does today.
In the last year Arya has started being able to sit up unassisted after being position for up to 10 minutes if not longer. She’s eating foods that I never dreamed she would eat and is figuring out how to communicate with us in her own way. She’s also improved with being able to use her hands and feed herself somewhat. Another huge gain is the use of a straw!
Our new goal has been working on using a different kind of gait trainer, because in her current one she’s been pretty great at walking!
We are so grateful for everything kids Center has done for us and we want to help them continue to give other kids the ability to progress like they have given us. With your donation you are helping kids like Arya continue to receive services. Thank you so much!
We can't wait for you to Walk & Roll with us!
We've created this team because we want to raise money and make a difference by participating in Kid Center for Pediatric Therapies' 16th Annual Walk & Roll. Please help us by donating whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that know about Kids Center, the greater the impact, so please also spread the word by sharing our page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
