The Wildlife Ranger Challenge was launched by Tusk in 2020 to support Africa’s Wildlife Rangers when COVID-19 halted tourism, cutting vital funding. Three years later, the effects of the pandemic are still impacting tourism and funding. The rangers continue to need our help. Alexander Dreymon, and his Last Kingdom co-stars Mark Rowley and Arnas Fedaravicius, have supported this initiative since its inception. This year, they will be joining the ARSELING ARMY team, comprised of enthusiastic Last Kingdom fans from all over the world.  

Since it was founded, the ARSELING ARMY has grown to include members from 27 different countries, who have participated in the races and/or donated in support of the rangers. We’re united not only by our love of the hit Netflix series The Last Kingdom, but we also have great admiration for series star Alexander Dreymon’s passion for conservation and for the heroic men and women who are on the frontlines of protecting Africa's endangered species. 

Race day is 17 September. That’s when ranger teams from 15 countries will run 21km across Africa’s protected areas while supporters from all around the world run 5, 10, or 21km. You can run…..or you can cycle, row, swim, ride a horse, walk your dog, cat or goldfish, even bake (and we know how much Alexander, Mark and Arnas love a good cupcake). You get the idea, anything goes!
