Fundraising for Keech Hospice Care
Thanks for taking the time to come and visit my page!
In order to support charities that have been impacted during the coronavirus pandemic, my team which consists of 12 colleagues and I have decided to come together and host a ‘Barclays Step Challenge Campaign’.
Why have I nominated Keech Adults & Childrens Hospice in particular?
July 2017, my son Kye Small 9 was diagnosed with Glioblastoma stage 4 cancer. The cancer took the form of multiple brain tumours. Following care offered by Addenbrook Hospital, Cambridge he was referred to Keech Hospice. Keech dramatically changed my opinion of hospices and ultimately made a nightmare scenario more manageable. In light of this, I have decided to continue supporting this charity and the work they do to help vulnerable families.
How will the challenge work?
The Step Challenge will have a collective step goal of *1 million steps*, which will run for two weeks. To achieve this goal, we’ll be running, walking and jogging for ten consecutive working days. To help measure activity, we’ll be tracking steps using fitness trackers reportable daily.
How much will we be attempting to raise?
Our Barclays team will be aiming to raise £300.00 across a variety of fundraiser pages. The funds will be divided amongst all charities nominated. Barclays offer a Matching Funding programme, which is currently being reviewed. If this application is approved, the funds total may be doubled subject to conditions being met.
