Story
A group of staff, and hopefully some students, at the Northern Regional College are going to be doing some challenging physical activity between the 7th and 10th May 2020 in order to raise money for a local charity working to help support the vulnerable during the current crisis. The main challenge is for groups of staff and/or students to team together and collectively walk or run, during their daily exercise time, the equivalent of the 79 miles it would take to travel ‘Around the Campuses’ of the College.
Other staff will also be doing their own challenges during the period including an indoor Ironman format triathlon, cycling, and even doing quarter of a mile of sewing.
Over a hundred staff have signed up and pledged to cover over a thousand miles between them.

The rapidly changing situation has meant that some of our services particularly those supporting people who are homeless or living in hostels and our young people and family respite centres now face a shortage of important items. In addition to requesting donations for their hardship appeal, we are urgently appealing for members of the public to help them source vital items which are in high demand and proving difficult to source. These include basic mobile phones and credit, foil blankets for people who are homeless, warm clothing, handwash/soap, hand wipes, nappies, cleaning fluids/equipment and sanitary products. The people we support and their families, need your support now more than ever.
