I'm taking part in the 2021 Ayrshire's Dip with a Nip on Boxing Day to raise money for Ayrshire Cancer Support, we'll be running in to the sea at Ayr Beach at 11am! 

In July this year, I received the awful news that my Aunt has stage 4 terminal stomach cancer. 

The type of cancer my Aunt has - Signet Cell is sadly incurable, and there are little to no options for treatment other than palliative care.

My Aunt was able to have one round of chemotherapy but this made her really unwell, she has spent a lot of time in hospital recovering from the side effects since her treatment in August and sadly in October was admitted to intensive care due to sepsis.

It wasn't until Aunts diagnosis did I fully appreciate the excellent care and support available to those with cancer and their families in Ayrshire. 

My Aunt has made the brave decision to choose quality over quantity & we're trying to enjoy every day we have.  

I'm sure she'll be at the beach shaking her head with her granddaughters Lillia and Florence, flask of tea in hand, most likely her binoculars wondering what heck daft situation we've got ourselves into now!
