I will be travelling to Uganda in June to be part of Welsh Water’s continued support to WaterAid.

All donations raised will help towards finding appropriate and sustainable solutions to the poor sanitation and lack of clean, safe drinking water by working with local community organisations to support them to build their own solutions, to encourage people to take ownership of projects to ensure they are in control of changes to their environment. In Uganda alone 9.2 million people don't have access to safe water; this is a quarter of the population. As a result, over 12,000 children die every year from diarrhoea caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation.

Uganda is growing fast and many small towns develop without adequate access to clean water and sanitation. Welsh Water is looking to support this provision in the township of Namalu in Northern Uganda.
