Story
Hello everyone,
Thank you for stopping to read about my fundraiser.
Children's hospice south west offers care for children with life-limiting illnesses, and allows families to spend some time together free of the normal demands of cooking caring, medication etc.
I am raising money for CHSW, a charity I wholeheartedly believe in. CHSW offers respite and other vital support to over 500 families in the South West. In doing so, making the most of short and precious lives.
'Imogen was born with a life limiting condition which meant she was blind, had polymorphic epilepsy, was unable to swallow meaning she was fed through a tube and needed 24 hour care. This, alongside a number of of other complex and challenging medical issues, made life very exhausting. She was, however, a little girl who despite not communicating with words could speak just with her eyes and melted everyone she met. Her life was so hard but CHSW gave her so much purpose, an abundance of fun and love. Without their support I really don't know what we would have done. They helped us to create beautiful, happy and everlasting memories that we will forever be grateful for.'
Emma's personal account about how the charity enhanced their families life was my inspiration to do this challenge.
I will be making 1,000 paper cranes in 24 hours to raise this money. There is a belief in Japanese tradition that in creating 1,000 paper cranes, you bring a wish, happiness and ease of suffering. I think my wish would be that any family needing support will find Children's Hospice South West there to do so.
Any donations would be gratefully received. I hope with your assistance, I can make a vital contribution to the inspirational work the Hospice do every day!
My challenge runs from 5pm on Friday 29th April to 5pm on Saturday 30th. From 5pm to 8:30am I will be in the Durrant House Hotel in Bideford, from 8:45am to 5pm I will be in Affinity shopping center (previously Atlantic Village). Why not pop along to see me, the cranes and maybe drop a donation into my bucket.
Thank you,
Aria
