Argyle Community Trust's football education programme is taking part in a stadium to stadium challenge on a weekly basis to raise money for Mind Mental Health Charity. We understand the impact that these tough times can have on people's mental health and want to support the good work that Mind do to support people who are struggling throughout this period.
Our football education programme seeks to increase the opportunity given to young footballers aged 16-19 to gain a rigorous academic qualification alongside playing football full time. It aims to give young players to gain qualifications that can take students to progress to higher education or careers in sport whilst developing their footballing talents to a level that allows them to progress their career in the game.
As an education programme, we will be aiming to run the distance between Home Park and the stadium of the opponents the first team are playing at the weekend. The challenge will be a weekly challenge (Monday - Saturday) with the distance to run being posted at the start of the week. Regular updates of our progress throughout each week will be posted on our Argyle Community Trust social media outlets. Students will be competing against one another to see who runs the furthest each week to increase the competition element whilst we cannot play football.
