On the 28th of September myself and Becca will be embarking on a huge 177mile trek from Chepstow to Prestatyn along the Offas Dyke challenge!
On the 15th of April 2013 our Gran/Nanny Coo sadly passed away after suffering from dementia. To see someone you love and care for get to a point where she couldn’t even recognise her own family is heartbreaking. We want to fundraise for dementia UK so that family’s going through the same thing we did can have the help and support they need in such a difficult time.
There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK, with numbers set to rise to over 1 million by 2025. This will soar to 2 million by 2051. 225,000 will develop dementia this year, that’s one every three minutes.
What is dementia UK?
Our vision is to provide the specialist and compassionate support for all families that need it, through our Admiral Nurse service. When things get challenging or difficult for people with dementia and their families, Admiral Nurses work alongside them, giving the one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions people need.
