We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

In support of the Alzheimer's Society, Sophie Ross-Scoffin from our Manchester office, will be doing the Heaton Park Memory walk on the 8th October 2022, along with her husband Stuart and her girls Maia and Emmy and a group of friends

This date was Sophie’s fathers birthday and having lost him in December 2021 to various ailments, including Alzheimer's, the walk is a way to celebrate his first birthday without him. They are also walking for her Mum who is in the advance stages of Mixed Alzheimer’s and Vascular Dementia.

"My family and I will be undertaking a Memory walk to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s and other dementias. This is a cause very close to my heart as both my parents have/had a form or dementia. Through COVID I became their carer and have since experienced caring for somebody with dementia and living with somebody with dementia. We gained so much support from the Alzheimer’s Society and by taking part fundraising I hope others can gain that support and research can continue to improve preventing, medicating, and living with this cruel disease."

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
