Archie's Everesting Attempt

Archie Cross is raising money for Young Lives vs Cancer

Everesting Record Attempt · 11 June 2021

At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Visit www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

Story

It's been a while since I pestered people for money for something stupid I am doing so I thought it's time to do it again. I am asking for any donations you can to Young Lives vs Cancer, a charity that helps young people with cancer and their families. I know this charity was a big support for our friend Nick, who recently passed away after a battle with cancer.

On Friday I am going to attempt to get the UK Everesting record. This will basically involve riding up and down a hill 58 times until I have ridden up the height of Everest. The current UK record is 7 hours and 32 minutes and held by a professional cyclist. The 2 times Tour de Frane winner Alberto Contador, last year, did 7 hours 27 minutes and briefly held the world record before it was lowered. The aim is to get the UK record (although also beating Contador would be nice).
