For those of you who don't know me, my name's Kerry-Anne and I am Head of service for the East Kent Community Children's Nursing Service and my post is partly funded by CLIC Sargent, and I am running the marathon in aid of them!

CLIC Sargent's support of my post is invaluable and it enables me and my team to offer palliative care to children, young people and their families within their own homes. Also, a large proportion of my team's caseload is comprised of children receiving treatment for childhood cancer and our role is primarily to support them and their families at home, school etc, provide nursing care, training and advice.

I really enjoy my job and feel that my team and I are in a privileged position when we are working with these children and their families and having this experience has enabled me to recognise and understand the emotional, psychological and financial impact a diagnosis of childhood cancer can have on a family and the value of having a resource like CLIC Sargent for these children and their families.  

I've got my super-duper husband helping me with my training, which goes something like..."come on Kerry, put the effort in!!!" but I really need some help in in the fundraising stakes! So please dig deep and sponsor me online.
