Story
I am doing this for my Yr.8 leavers project as the ride takes me along the north downs pilgrimage route from Winchester to Canterbury. I chose this route because of the connection to the Pilgrims school and Winchester Cathedral.
The ride itself takes me along bridlepaths as large parts of the old pilgrimage route have become major roads like the M25 and the A31 and are obviously unsafe to ride horses on. Over two days I hope to ride from Winchester Cathedral to the outskirts of Farnham and thereby complete approximately 40 miles of the 155 mile route.
I chose the air ambulance as my charity to do this for because of the vital role they play in helping injured riders among others.
The ride starts in the Cathedral Close at 10 am on Monday 24 June with a blessing from the Dean.
Our thanks to the Dean, Pilgrims School & the Staff of the Cathedral for their support on this.
