Story
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page!
We are a group of six archaeology students from Bournemouth University who are going to be walking the length of Hadrian's Wall during June 2008 and in doing so we hope to raise a little money for the charity Cancer Research UK.
We plan to begin the walk from Bowness on Solway (nr. Carlisle) on the 9th of June and after 84 miles finish with many aches and pains at Wallsend (nr. Newcastle) on whatever date we actually make it - possibly sometime in 2010. More information regarding the trail can be found at http://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/hadrianswall.
During the preparation and throughout the walk we plan to keep a blog documenting our progress or lack thereof which you are more than welcome to have a laugh at: http://archaeologygirls.blogspot.com. Also you can contact us with comments and/or possible challenges on archaeologygirls@googlemail.com.
Although you may not think we'll finish the walk this is an ideal opportunity to offer support to Cancer Research UK, you never know, your contribution may create the cure for cancer. But if not donations to Cancer Research UK can help create better detection methods and treatments which can help to save even more lives. For more information about this charity see the following link http://www.cancerresearchuk.org.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us and Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster. Also if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax can be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
