Story

Win coffee (a 30 minute video call) with one of our “Arbitration Idols”

The warm familiarity of sharing a cup of coffee or tea with friends or colleagues is but one of the many comforts that has vanished in the wake of the Covid-19 global pandemic.

Until the time comes when we can once again share coffee in person we encourage everyone in the arbitration community and beyond to come together (online) and participate in our fun fundraising initiative! We will bring people together (online), raise funds for a charitable cause and allow all of us to enjoy a warm cup of digital coffee.

To be in with a chance of winning, simply donate whatever sum you believe is appropriate. We appreciate that individual circumstances differ so there is no minimum donation required but please give generously. Your donation - irrespective of the amount - will give you the chance to win a 30 minute video call with one of our "Arbitration Idols". Our "Arbitration Idols" are leaders in the field of international arbitration - each has given their time generously in order to help us raise money for a fantastic cause.

The Arbitration Idols you can meet are:

  • Mohamed Abdel Wahab
  • Funke Adekoya
  • Gary Born
  • Eleonora Coelho
  • Gabrielle Kaufmann-Kohler
  • Darius Khambata
  • Joongi Kim
  • Toby Landau
  • Dana MacGrath
  • Michael Mcilwrath
  • Lucy Reed
  • Catherine Rogers

The winners will be announced by their first name and their respective city/country and individually contacted by us. If you want to participate in winning a coffee with one of the Arbitration Idols, we ask you to opt in to share your name and email address with us (only with us, not with other donors). Simply forward the confirmation e-mail from JustGiving  to ArbitrationIdol@gmail.com (redacted). You can of course still be anonymous on the page itself at the same time.

All proceeds will be donated to UNICEF to support their efforts to combat the impact of Covid-19 worldwide, in particular on child-populations around the world. Charities such as UNICEF have been unable to engage in their normal fundraising activities due to the pandemic. As a result funds are needed more than ever to enable their valuable work to continue. Help us to support their fantastic work!

Updates - including our line up of "Arbitration Idols" - will be announced here and on:
