Story
Every dollar makes a difference at the Arapahoe YMCA. As a donor, you help us to provide our Lafayette neighbors with the programs and support they need to navigate these challenging times.
In 2020, when the pandemic struck, the Y showed up in ways that even we couldn't have imagined possible. Within 48 hours of stay-at-home orders, we developed emergency childcare programs for essential workers. We launched virtual wellness classes and reached out to thousands of isolated seniors. We developed remote learning programs and partnered with other nonprofits to support food security efforts. We adapted over and over.
Today, the Arapahoe Y, which is part of the YMCA of Northern Colorado, continues to empower and support families, children and seniors as they navigate the pandemic, their financial and employment losses, continued isolation, a surplus of screen time and a deficit of connection with nature, their physical and mental health and their own communities. We will help our neighbors work toward recovery and thrive once again.
However, recovery for the Y will take years. Due to state and local mandates, the Y has lost more than a quarter of its membership and every program has seen losses. We need your help to ensure that our communities can benefit from the Y long into the future. Please give today.
