So in 2020 I take on my first Marathon in Manchester. Its going to be tough, with plenty of training required but mentally I'm ready for the challenge...let the games begin! 

I will be running on behalf of Derian House, a charity who I believe do an amazing job supporting families and young people who have life shortening conditions which prevent them from living as long as the rest of us.

I am not running for a loved one that I have lost, but firmly believe the work carried out and the environment which has been established at the hospice creates such a wonderful place for young people and their families to share together at a time which cant be easy for any of them. 

Working with young people in my day to day job, I believe that they should all get the chance to live a long and exciting life, with the opportunity to do everything they ever dream of, sadly this isnt the case for those at Derian House. However the staff create a loving, warm environment where the children can enjoy themselves, share memories with friends and family and have plenty of laughs in the time they have.
