Story
In our line of business we work closely with our customers across a vast range of industries protecting their workforce from air pollutants which can cause breathing and lung disorders. With this in mind, and notwithstanding our own thirst for a physical challenge, we'd like to help raise awareness and money for the British Lung Foundation by taking part in Ride London 2018 - a mere 100 miles!!
Lung disease remains a serious problem in the workplace contributing to an estimated 12,000 deaths a year and thousands more with life limiting conditions. Workplace lung disease is therefore one of the key topics in HSE's Health and Work Strategy.
At APS UK Ltd we strive to help companies resolve potentially hazardous working environments which impact on the lung health of their employees. Adrian is also the honourable secretary on the steering committee of ILEVE (Institute of Local Exhaust Ventilation Engineers), which was established to promote air quality in the workplace and to reduce ill health and death due to airborne contamination and hazardous substances in the working environment.
The passion for our work and how it can potentially save lives, is matched almost equally by the idea of a 100 mile bike ride with hills!
The 100-mile challenge begins at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and winds through the closed roads of London to Surrey’s testing hills before heading back to the capital for a spectacular finish on The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace.
