Story
Team Falkirk will be completing a sky-dive for the charity Skydive on 30th April 2022 for Muscular Dystrophy UK. The team of 8 are Stacia Read, John Hill, Hayley Hill, James Brook, Evelyn Grogan, Martin Grogan, Steven Mapplebeck and Harvey Thomson.
We have a minimum target of £3160.00 to reach before we ‘jump’ from the plane. The sky-dive is a tandem skydive and taking place at the St. Andrew’s Skydive Centre in Glenrothes.
Muscular Dystrophy UK helps around 70,000 people living with muscle-wasting condition in the UK. Muscular Dystrophy UK supports families living with these conditions and offers vital information, advice, resources and support.
Muscular Dystrophy (MD) is an inherited genetic condition that gradually causes the muscles to weaken, leading to an increasing level of disability. It is a progressive condition which means it will get worse as time goes on. There are more than 60 types of MD; some types eventually affect the heart or the muscles we use to breath - this is when it becomes life-threatening.
There is no cure for MD, but there are treatments that can help to manage the symptoms of some conditions. Since 1959, MDUK have invested over £55 million into high quality research into the conditions, this is only possible because of the generosity and dedication of their supporters. Without this support and funding, MDUK would not be able to continue the amazing job they do.
So please help us reach our minimum target, better yet, help us beat our target and help this charity continue the outstanding work they already do! Any donation you are able to make, no matter how little is so greatly appreciated and we cannot thank you enough for supporting us.
You can keep up to date with our progress and development by coming back to this page and see what we have been up to and how well we are doing, we will be posting update as often as we can :).
